Moore’s Law seem too continuously apply to the everlasting improvement of CPUs. However, it has gone far beyond the traditional addition of transistors. Today’s development is far more complex than ever. The introduction of the Cuda architecture as a cost-effective alternative to CPUs in terms of computation is a good example of this.

Marketing material by the different producers all promise industry breaking performance. We simply do not believe most of the things being said in the computer industry today. All products have strengths & weaknesses realtive to price, but they are not really that well industry mapped.

We are all starved on computing power when it comes to development of CPU intensive tasks.  In order to find the best suited package for the task, industry-specific benchmarking is the only way to go. This in combination with market-leading qualitative knowledge gives us a good idea on how to optimize an industry specific package.
